The Száz Völgy Nature Conservation Society was formed by individuals living in the Komárom-Esztergom county who prioritize the protection of local nature and maintenance of biodiversity. Our goal is to bring together experts of environment protection, nature conservation and environmental education areas and has worked in various non-governmental organizations or independently. This cooperation and a "value-saving thinking" has been supplemented by well-organized actions and conservation field works are carried out as well as informing and involving the wide public of these programs.
At the foundation we have been endeavored to get members of all ages when law allows. We structured the membership system for families as well and created a family membership category.
Anyone is welcomed to join, participate of the field works and programs of the Society upon the acceptance of the goals and adopts values. In line of our core mission special care has been taken for the education of children.
During spring thousands of frogs have been rescued on three different locations. We participate in the reintroduction of European Ground Squirrel population in our county. Our White Stork vonservation program is outstanding. In August, a one-month bird ringing camp welcomes those interested in nature. In autumn, the crane-watching excursion to the Hortobágy National Park and the Wild Goose Festival of Tata are the main events. During the year, more public bird ringing is carried out.
